ADASA’s core curriculum has been designed to provide you with the skills you’ll need to graduate a competent, confident professional, ready for a fulfilling career in dental assisting.
As part of your instruction, you will focus on the following key areas of learning and training:
Orientation to the dental profession
Dental terminology and anatomy
Principles of disinfection and sterilization
Safety in the dental office
Identification of dental hand instruments
Techniques of instrument transfer
Charting a patient’s record
Assembly and maintenance of dental hand pieces
Taking and processing dental radiographs (x-rays)
Dental restorative and impression materials
Use of dental laboratory equipment and materials
Resume and job interview preparation
80 hours of instruction are provided in 10 individual courses, with time split evenly between classroom and lab (hands-on) teaching. You also get the benefit of a one-day internship in a real dental office!
Your textbook with companion interactive CD-ROM, and ADASA notebook with course handouts needed for studies are included in the tuition.

As a student in dental assistant training, you will study in both the classroom and “hands on” in a real dental office setting, to maximize the practical experience provided by ADASA’s training curriculum.
